TBCS FOSS SIG meets on the last Thursday of each month in the TBCS Resource Center.

 

The next FOSS-SIG meeting is February 23, 2012 at 1 pm.

 

 

The TBCS Linux SIG meets the third Monday of each month.

The May Linux SIG might have interested Windows users too. We explored hard drive partitioning using Parted Magic, a great open source improvement to the old Partition Magic.
 
We also explored some grub/ partitioning problems and repair strategies using Parted Magic tools and Rescatux.

Can't decide which flavor of Linux to install? I showed the SIG an online Linux distribution chooser and we attempted to try-out giver, a relatively unknown free Novell package inside Ubuntu and LinuxMint.
